Basic concept:
STEP 7 is
pre-installed on SIMATIC PGs, but must be installed on PCs intended for use as
a programming system. Suitable PCs, having
a Windows operating system (Windows 7). The SETP 7 Basic package
contains the LAD/FBD/STL programming editor, which supports Ladder, Function
Block Diagram, and Statement List languages for programming S7 controllers.
Optional languages and tools, which must be installed after STEP 7 is
installed, must be considered since they should be installed on the same drive.
Quick steps:
Step 1: logon as administrator or
power user, to install STEP 7 for Windows 7.
Step2: ensure that your PC hard
drive has adequate space for the installation. Depending on your component
selection from 200-380 MB will be required.
Step 3: from the Windows Explorer
navigate to the SETUP.exe installation program on the STEP 7 CD (or Flash Disk)
and double-click on the program to start the installation.

4:
from
the STEP 7 setup dialog Setup Language, click and select the language of choice
to use for the STEP 7 installation setup dialogs.

Step 5: from
the STEP 7 setup dialog components, place a check mark in each box to select
what software components should be installed.

each native language in which STEP 7 should be available

Step 7: from the STEP 7 Setup
dialog Start-up Language, click and select the language of choice to start-up
with when STEP 7 is launched.
Step 8: toward the end of the
installation, you will be given the option to allow the setup program to
install the STEP 7 authorization. Simply insert the diskette when prompted.
